Conditions of Booking
Bed & Breakfast
Bookings for bed and breakfast must be confirmed within 5 days, together with the completed booking form and a non-returnable deposit equal to one night’s accommodation.
Bookings for self-catering apartments must be confirmed within 5 days, together with the completed booking form and non-returnable deposit of 25% of the total price. The balance of payment is due 28 days before arrival. For bookings made less than 28 days in advance, or for short breaks, payment in full is required. Please make cheques payable to “Dower House”.
It is the responsibility of outgoing guests to leave apartments clean. Cleaning materials and vacuum cleaners are provided. We reserve the right to charge for any additional cleaning needed, or for any replacement of equipment. Please report any breakages or damage promptly so that we may replace or repair the equipment as soon as possible.
Central heating, when required, is charged at £20 per week for Rawlinson, Woodside and Chimneys, and £15 per week for Orchard Corner (or pro rata for short breaks). Electricity is by meter reading, which will be charged at the end of your stay. All hot water and bed linen is included in the tariff. Please bring your own towels, table linen and tea towels. Bath and hand towels may be hired (£3 per person). High chairs and cots may be hired (£5 each), please bring your own cot bedding.
General Information for All Guests
Apartments are available after 4pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10 a.m. on day of departure to enable us to clean and make up beds for new arrivals.
If you think you will be arriving after 6 p.m. please would you let us know beforehand, or if you are delayed, give us a ring en route.
In the event of cancellation we do our best to re-let. If we are unable to do so guests are responsible for full payment, unless the apartment is re-let. Therefore we strongly recommended that guests take out insurance. We can provide you with Cancellation Plan forms on request.
The Dower House has a private water supply.
We are a non-smoking establishment.
Sorry, we do not take pets.
All cancellations must be confirmed in writing.
More than 42 days - Deposit
We strongly recommend that you take our Holiday Cancellation Insurance to fully cover the cost of your booking. However, in the unfortunate event of cancellation, we will do our utmost to re-let, even at short notice.
Payment by Credit Card
I am afraid we now have to add a 2% charge when paying by credit or mastercard. There is no charge for debit cards.
